Terms of use

These terms apply when you use Chef Dan’s recipe and garden box (“the app”). By creating an account or using the app you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.

Your account

You sign in with your email address. Keep access to your email secure — anything done from your account is your responsibility.
You must give a real email address and choose a nickname that isn’t offensive, misleading or someone else’s name.
You can delete your account at any time from More → Settings → Delete my account.

Recipes and content you add

Recipes you add, scan, paste or upload are for your own personal use.
You are responsible for the legality of everything you add. You must have the right to use it — for example you wrote it, you have permission, or you are free to copy it for your own use.
Do not add content that infringes someone else’s copyright or other rights, or that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit or otherwise harmful.
Recipes are private to your login. You can choose to share your recipe box with a contact or a group, and stop at any time. Only share recipes you have the right to share.
You keep ownership of what you add. You give us permission to store it and show it to the people you choose to share it with, only so the app can work.

Chat, contacts and groups

Be respectful. Harassment, threats, hate, spam, scams and sharing anyone’s private information are not allowed.
You can report a person, message or recipe, and block anyone, from inside the app. We review reports and may remove content, suspend chat, or delete accounts that break these terms.
The app owner can see reports and the content reported to them, and can remove recipes and messages that break the rules. The app owner can also see all recipes stored in the app. Private chats are not read except where reported to us.

AI features

Some features use AI (for example reading recipe photos, plant identification, meal planning). AI can be wrong. Plant identification and health advice is a guide only — never eat a wild plant because of an identification, and check safety, allergens and cooking times yourself. Price checks are estimates, not live prices.

Using the app

Don’t try to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the app or other people’s data.
The app is provided as it is. We work to keep it running and your data safe, but we can’t promise it will always be available or error-free.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of the app, including from reliance on AI output, price estimates or content added by other people. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Australian Consumer Law.

Changes and ending

We may update these terms; if the change matters we’ll tell you in the app. You can stop using the app at any time. We may suspend or remove accounts that break these terms.
